Questions –

1. When did realize that you wanted to be an author?

I have always had a great aptitude for writing since graduating college.  I recently decided to become an author about 2 years ago, but the busy-ness of life got in the way and I never really could focus on my writing.  But one day, two months ago, I decided to just sit down and start writing.  After my mother passed away in June of 2017, there was a drive that came over me like never before!  I was determined to finish the book I started 2 years ago.

2. How long does it take for you to write one of your books?

It took me roughly 6 months to write my most recent book, “Prayer Plus Faith Equals Miracles: 31 Days of Fervent Prayer.”  While this book was in the editing phases, I started my next book.

3. How do you balance your work schedule when you’re busy writing?

Most people will make time for the extra things in life when they work full-time.  My work schedule is hectic, but I know that until I get to a place where I can be a full-time author, time management is what keeps me focused.  Once you master the discipline of working with a limited amount of time, then you make time for those things that are important, prioritize tasks, and accomplish target goals.

4. What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?

I really don’t have an “interesting” writing quirk.  But, I will say that I use a Macbook Pro for writing books only, and I use Microsoft Windows for work.  I cannot use windows to write my books, only for work.  This is a somewhat weird hangup because most people are either mac users or windows users, you rarely hear of people who prefer to use both.

5. How do you come up with ideas for your books?

As a Christian non-fiction author, my husband is a pastor and I typically get ideas from his Sunday sermons.  I mix what I glean from him with what the holy spirit downloads to me to write.

6. When did you write your first book?

I wrote my first book six months ago.

7. What are your hobbies when you’re not writing?

When I’m not writing, I am typically teaching liturgical dance to young girls at my church. Other than that, I do not have a lot of idle time for other hobbies.

8. What does your family and close friends think of your writing?

It’s hard to say because they don’t comment much.  I think they are waiting to see if I will be successful or not. That’s just my guess about that.  But believe it or not, I am finding that most of my biggest supporters and fans are actually people that don’t know me.  They are total and complete strangers.

9. What was one of the most interesting things that you learned about yourself when you published your first book?

I figured out that I can learn to use some of the most difficult software.  Things that I thought I could not do as it relates to writing and publishing a book, I have been able to figure out on my own without paying thousands of dollars to have someone show me how to publish or write a book.

10. How many books have you written? Which one is your favorite?

Prayer Plus Faith Equals Miracles is my first book that I have written. It is a prayer book of 31 days of fervent prayer.  Until I write more books, this is my favorite and it’s my only book, for right now.

11. What do you think makes a good story?

I think that the best stories are those that are based on very real, and candid personal experiences.  Fiction is good, but I know some amazing people who have some unbelievable stories.

12. Where do you like to kick back and write your books?

Although this isn’t the most comfortable place, I like to sit in my living room on the floor or in my bedroom on the floor with my laptop.  If I am not sitting on the floor, I sit in my bed.
